Golden teachers are a strain or variety of the famous psychedelic mushroom Psilocybe cubensis. Although their origin is unknown, they have gained notoriety for their ability to create βguidedβ trips. Many people describe their hallucinogenic effects as being unusually potent and spiritually fulfilling.
The origin of these mushrooms are shrouded in mystery from some accounts stating the origin being Florida to other accounts claiming origin from Hawaii.
The exact origins are unknown but it is highly recognizable because of its golden caps with specks of yellow.
Like all other strains, golden teachers share the same benefits as Psilocybe cubensis. Recent research shows that shrooms could be the next breakthrough in psychology and psychiatry. This is called βpsychedelic-assisted psychotherapyβ (PAP).
The concept of PAP emerged shortly after the discovery of LSD in 1943, when multiple scientists started to theorize that psychoactive substances could help tear down some of the barriers of the mind. Numerous studies were performed with varying degrees of success, often focusing on alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Several papers show that psilocybin (the main compound in P. cubensis) can help treat anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD.
